One of the main features of Gastric Bypass is the ability to build up your camp to defend against the zombie hordes. The past two days I spent getting the foundations of this mode in place and now I have it where you can dynamically build geometry in game pretty smoothly with snapping.
Right now there are two types of building materials – cubes and angles as you can see in the screenshot, but now that the foundation is in place, there are going to be a ton more things including spikes, explosive barrels, etc.
Overall this wasn’t too difficult to get right and the system that I’ve built I’m pretty proud of because it used some clever Unity tricks to make my life a lot easier.
